Kiting to Raise Money

The tradition of an annual Kitesurfing event to raise money for those in need, first started five years ago when Kent and a bunch of other (crazy) guys kited from Auckland to Great Barrier Island in an epic mission to raise money for Starship Foundation.

While that was an amazing achievement and the guys raised lots of money, the following year Kent wanted an event that is more accessible and open to anyone to get more people involved in his mission to kite to raise money for a good cause. Born was the idea for a Big Air Competition.

In the second year, Kent joined forces with Juan and Mike and together they made the Big Air event even bigger and better.

While we had to wait several weeks last year, it was worth it in the end. We had an amazing day out a Muriwai and ended up raising over $5k for Starship Foundation.

Over the past 3 Big Air Competitions, we have raised a total of over $16,000 for Starship Foundation.

Now in its forth year, we want to step it up even further to bring together more kiters, have even more fun and of course most importantly, raise more money. In fact, we've set a very ambitious target this year to raise more than $10,000! Find out how you can help here
